In-Person Absentee Voting starts today!: Would you like to cast your ballot before the April 1st election?  In-Person Absentee Voting starts today.  The first day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office is:  Tuesday, March 18, 2025 The last day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office: Friday, March 28, 2025  March 18 – 27 hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 4:00PM March 28 hours are 8:00AM – 5:00PM   No in-person absentee voting may occur on Monday, March 31, 2025

Ralph Rice 1933-2021

Ralph L Rice Passed away on Friday, August 20th, 2021 at the age of 87.

Son of late Richard and Ruby (Miller) Rice.  He leaves his wife, Mary (Rohda) Rice, his three children, Steve, Jeff and his wife Phyllis, Tammy and her husband Gary Chart, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was born in Burlington, Wisconsin on October 14th, 1933 and lived in Burlington all his adult life.  In 1954, he married Mary (Rohda).  Ralph was the proprietor of Rice Family Farms and served on various boards relating to farming.  One dearest to his heart, was his time on the Racine County Fair board/executive committee and working with the 4H program.

Ralph got involved in town government as a young man in the 1960’s when he became a volunteer firefighter.  He then joined the planning and zoning committee in the 1980’s and was elected to the town board. He served as Town Chairman from 2009 until he retired in 2021.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Racine County Fair Grounds from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 19th, 2021.  In remembrance of Ralph’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Racine County Fair or Town of Burlington Fire Department.
